Putting Yay on your home screen

Press and hold the Yay icon on your home screen, then choose Add Widget. Pick a size and it appears straight away.

You can also press and hold an empty part of the home screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Yay.

Showing a particular countdown

Press and hold any Yay widget and choose Edit Widget, then pick the countdown you want. Leave it unset and the widget always shows whichever countdown is next, which needs no maintenance.

Add more than one widget to see more than one countdown at a time.

On the lock screen

Press and hold the lock screen, tap Customise, then Lock Screen, then the area below the clock. Yay offers a circle and a rectangle there, and an inline one that sits above the clock.

Lock screen widgets are always grey. That is iOS, not Yay: Apple renders every app's lock screen widget without colour. Your themes show in full on the home screen.

Reminders

Yay can remind you on the morning of each countdown. Turn it on in Settings, where you can also choose the time and add a reminder the day before. Each countdown has its own switch on its edit screen, so you can have reminders for some and not others.

Restoring a purchase

New phone, or reinstalled the app? Open Settings and tap Restore purchases. Your unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so it comes back at no cost.

Yay is a one-off purchase

There is no subscription and nothing to cancel. You pay once, and that is the end of it.
